GoalThe Okopanya association is committed to providing consistent and sustainable support to the Maison Béthanie orphanage in Togo. Our efforts include supplying food, hygiene essentials, school materials, and medical assistance, while also ensuring that staff salaries are secured. Additionally, we help the orphanage develop its own initiatives, enabling it to achieve long-term financial independence. Our focus is on building a strong and reliable partnership to offer local children meaningful opportunities for the future.
ProjectIn the summer of 2025, the Okopanya association will host a private event to showcase its work. We will share our experience at the Maison Béthanie orphanage in Togo, present photos, and explain how donations directly impact the children and the community. Our goal is to inspire and engage people in our mission—whether through financial contributions or other forms of support. Every donation goes directly toward education, nutrition, healthcare, childcare, as well as much-needed infrastructure and staff salaries. We look forward to connecting with new supporters and spreading hope together.
Okopanya also coordinates the shipment of urgently needed in-kind donations, including clothing, school supplies, and medical essentials, to Togo. To ensure cost-effective transportation, we use sea freight and shipping containers for larger quantities.
We collect well-preserved donations in Switzerland, manage the logistics, and ensure that all items reach Maison Béthanie directly. You can support us by donating goods, assisting with logistics, or contributing financially to transportation costs. Every effort makes a difference!

From Inspiration to Action: The Birth of Okopanya
Okopanya was born from a heartfelt journey to Togo in the summer of 2024. Three of our founders visited Maison Béthanie, an orphanage where they met Mireille—a remarkable woman with an immense dedication to children. Her work deeply moved them, inspiring a small donation appeal upon their return to Switzerland. The response was overwhelming, sparking the idea of creating an association.In March 2025, they traveled back to Togo to deepen their understanding of the orphanage's needs and explore sustainable ways to support its mission. By May 2025, Okopanya was officially founded—an organization committed to giving children in Togo hope, opportunities, and a brighter future.
